You and I, we can't be together right now...
Put your hearts up
After Kitzen had walked around outside for a bit, she decided it was time to return to her dorm. She wasn’t going to class anyways, so it seemed like a good day to lounge around playing videogames or reading. She turned around and started heading back to her dorm building.
On the way there she noticed a teacher coming from the opposite direction. It wasn’t any of her teachers, but if she continued walking past them it would be pretty obvious she was going to be skipping the class she should be in. Luckily for her there was a building close by and so she headed over to it, getting inside as the teacher passed by. She gave a sigh of relief and looked ahead of her.
She recognized the inside as the English building and smiled slightly to herself. She would easily be able to cut through and exit the building again through the back and take the back way to her residence. When she had started cutting classes she had figured out all of the routes around campus that you could take that wouldn’t have any teachers along them, making it easy to get around the campus without getting caught.
Kitzen started making her way through the hallways, walking around the groups of students waiting outside their classrooms. She was about halfway through the building when someone bumped into her.
“S-sorry!”
Kitzen looked down at the girl who had uttered the apology. “Oh, it’s okay,” she replied. She then smiled. “You should be more careful though. Sometimes people aren’t as forgiving.” She laughed a little. “On your way to class?”
Jessie looked up at the girl who she had bumped into.
“Oh, it’s okay, You should be more careful though. Sometimes people aren’t as forgiving. On your way to class?”
She was… surprised. Normally people who she had bumped into were as crude as ever, and simply ignored her. Nobody ever acted so kind and gentle to her after being bumped into… Nor did they ask her if she was on her way to class. Jessie decided to return her kindness with a faint, shy smile.
“U-uh.. Yeah I am…”
WAIT A SECOND!!!
A sudden voice shouted into her head.
You’re not going to class! You have gym, first thing! You know how much you hate gym!
The voice was right. Jessie HATED gym, especially if it was first thing in the morning. She wouldn’t even bother to try, even if the task was easy-peasy.
“Um… Actually, I just remembered. I don’t have class right now…” She nervously giggled, hoping that she wouldn’t get caught.
Kitzen shifted her gaze from the papercraft model in Pepakura to the clock on the taskbar. It was time to leave for her math class. She sighed and put her Exacto knife down on her cutting board and pushed her chair away from the desk. She got her bag and left her dorm room.
As she made her way to the building her class was in, she wanted to go to this class less and less. Furthering her education was the right thing to do as the next step, but at the same time wasn’t college optional? Even during her senior year she wasn’t even sure if she wanted to go to college right away.
So, like so many other times, she decided that it’d be nice to skip class. At the end of the semester her grades would obviously reflect her bad habit but she couldn’t seem to care about it.
But where to go? She could go back to her dorm and continue working on the papercraft model, but overdoing it would result in hurting her index finger so she decided against it.
Instead taking a walk around campus wouldn’t be a bad idea. Unless she got caught by someone.
It seemed to be a very normal morning for Jessie. Like always, she woke up, washed up, got dressed, and ate breakfast. Nothing too special about that. She slipped on her shoes, and walked out of her dorm.
Students were bustling around in the halls, hurrying to where ever they needed to go to in the building for class. The rising sun’s rays shined through the windows, as students passed by. It was still a bit too early for Jessie to go down to class right now. She slowly walked down the hall, tapping away at her phone, or constantly changing the songs playing in her mp3 player.
Of course, Jessie was a careless daydreamer. She loved to dream about fairy tales and such. As she walked down the hall, staring into space, she suddenly came to a stop and bumped into someone.
“S-Sorry!”
